1979:
My first job, which I held for 7 years, was repairing musical instruments at a popular music shop. Latterly I was in charge of the workshop.
At this time I played drums and bass. My first bass was a Fender Precision. I bought a fretless neck for the bass but unfortunately that bass was stolen.
1986:
With the ability to play several instruments I invested in a second hand 4 Track Real to Real then shortly after left the music shop to build a recording studio. The heart of this studio was a Fostex 16 Track Real to Real. Even back then it cost £3,500. The free multi-track recording software available today produces a better quality recording than that 16 track real to real.
After a year or so I moved to a new line of work as a general builder. I still do this but I also built a mobile 24 track recording studio. Several albums were produced which I also played on. Most of these were recorded live at church events and then later mixed down to produce the final master albums. Some audio samples will be placed below.
Music Styles:
My preferred music styles would be jazz fusion such as Steely Dan, Weather Report etc but also love rock and many other styles. I have a good ear for music preferring to listen and adjust my playing to match the mood of the track being recorded. Send me your music sample and I’ll add a bass line that fits right in.
